At the beginning, school principal Dariusz Kunaszko addressed those present and welcomed the guests. In warm words, he spoke to the pupils of classes Ia and Ib, emphasizing that the ceremony had been preceded by several weeks of preparation. The first-graders learned songs and texts, which they presented during their performance, and developed appropriate behavior during lessons and breaks. They gained knowledge about proper relationships that facilitate peer integration and functioning at school. They met all the school employees and learned to respect their work.

Next, both first-grade classes presented their program. During a “television program” prepared by the “School Local Television,” the children were able to demonstrate their knowledge of their homeland and school, their understanding of “savoir vivre,” their physical fitness and their resistance to “school viruses.”

The young actors delighted everyone with their committed attitude. Without hesitation or a trace of stage fright, they recited poems and sang songs. They performed all the exercises efficiently, passing each successive fitness test without the slightest difficulty.

In this way, they confirmed their readiness to take the solemn oath. In the presence of the color guard, they spoke the following words: “I solemnly swear to be a good Pole; to care for the good name of my class and school; to study diligently and develop my talents; to try to be a good classmate; and through my behavior and learning to bring joy to my parents and teachers.” After the oath, the principal symbolically inducted the children as pupils with an “enchanted pencil,” and presented them with commemorative certificates and badges. He wished all the pupils success in their studies.

The children then turned to their parents, asking them to support them with love and care on the new, difficult path of growing up and always accept them as they are. In response, all the parents said: “I will try to listen carefully to what my child is saying. I will remember that every child learns from mistakes. I will appreciate what is best in my child. I will hug them often. I will enjoy their childhood. We solemnly swear.”

After the ceremony, the pupils received small gifts and went to a sweet reception prepared by their parents, without whose help the event would not have had the same significance. They made sure that the tables looked beautiful, that the cornucopias satisfied every recipient, and that the entire ceremony proceeded in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to their dedication and commitment, we were able to enjoy this wonderful day.

This day also gained its unforgettable character thanks to the assistance of the school’s administrative and support staff. They supported both the parents and the teachers preparing the ceremony, Beata Chmielik and Izabela Rydzak.

Both form teachers took care of the appropriate setting for the ceremony. They prepared the pupils for their performance and made sure that the school gymnasium was transformed into a stage.
The solemn character of the event was enhanced by the guests who attended: Deputy Head of the Municipality Roman Jaworski, Education Committee Chair Henryk Borucki, Parish Priest Ludwik Maciak, Bolesławiec Municipality Councillor Grażyna Łucka, Village Head of Łaziska Joanna Łucka, Chair of the Parents’ Council Katarzyna Rzepka, Deputy Chair of the Parents’ Council Rafał Janiec, parents, teachers and school pupils.
