Since April, intensive preparations have been underway for the musical “The Lion King,” based on a script by Jonathan Roberts, Linda Woolverton and Irene Mecchi. The musical will premiere on 11 December on the stage of the Forum hall. More than one hundred people from four music and dance studios of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre are involved in the project.
The roles of the iconic characters Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa will be played by people selected during auditions held during the winter holidays. Agata Pińczuk-Burdzy, an instructor at the Song Studio, is preparing the young artists in stage performance and vocals. They will perform the songs “Hakuna Matata,” “The Circle of Life” and “Love Is All Around Us.” The actor-singers will be accompanied by dancers prepared by Halina Bałacka-Kłak, an instructor at the Contemporary Dance studio; Paweł Klimek, an instructor at the Break-Dance studio; and Krystyna Abramowicz, an instructor of the Canon and Canonki dance groups.
