The celebrations will begin with a Mass for the Homeland, which will be celebrated on November 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Church. At 12:00 p.m. a patriotic ceremony commemorating the events of 1918 will be held at the Millennium Monument.

At 4:30 p.m. the Municipal Cultural Centre’s auditorium will host “Singing Together,” an initiative aimed at having Zgorzelec residents perform patriotic songs with the participation of students from Zgorzelec’s Music School. In addition, throughout the day, the foyer of Zgorzelec’s Municipal Cultural Centre will feature an exhibition of books devoted to the restoration of independence, prepared by the Municipal Public Library in Zgorzelec.

Accompanying events:

  • On November 11 at 5:30 p.m. the ZSZiL named after the Miners and Energy Workers of Turów will host air-rifle shooting competitions at 10 metres and a tournament for the title of Zgorzelec’s Super Sniper. The programme will also include a meeting with veterans. Entry fee: PLN 5.
  • from November 21 to 23 UKS Basket Zgorzelec is organising the 5th National Independence Basketball Tournament for girls born in 2003 and later. The tournament will be held in the sports hall of Lower Secondary School No. 2 with Integration and Bilingual Departments in Zgorzelec.
