Bolesławiec will receive a total of more than PLN 580,000 to organize sports and cultural events. The city will contribute nearly PLN 275,000 from its own funds. The largest number of events will be organized by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. They will include:
- Western in the Nysa Euroregion “The Great Country and Western Feast”
- International MTB Cycling Marathon
- European Bolesławiec Street Races 2006
- Bolesławiec Chess Festival
- International Children’s and Youth Meeting “Let’s Get to Know Each Other – Sport as an Element of Cross-Border Integration”
- Euroregional Strongman Competition
- International Modern Pentathlon Competition
- 1st Euroregional Bridge Tournament and the 15th Bolesławiec Three-Day Sports Bridge Event
- Euroregional Equestrian Show-Jumping Competition
- International MTB Mountain Bike Race
The Municipal Office’s Development and Promotion Department is currently implementing two projects. They are:
- Let’s Get to Know Each Other Better – Bolesławiec and Česká Lípa: European Partnership. Promotion of Cross-Border Cooperation
- Cross-Border Historical and Natural-Education Project: In the Footsteps of Famous Europeans. Marking Out Hiking Trails in Bolesławiec
The Bolesławiec Cultural Centre will implement three projects:
- Art Without Borders – International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium
- An Open-Air Ceramic Event in the Polish-Czech Borderland: “Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival 2006”
- Polish-Czech Youth Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec
