– We want to prepare for changes in healthcare that were mentioned by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Ewa Kopacz – said Marcin Zawiła. – The points made in the prime minister’s speech provided additional inspiration; nevertheless, independently of them, we see an urgent need to improve and supplement the forms of healthcare provided to students – in a somewhat modified form – compared with the situation when every school had a nurse or school hygienist’s office, and most schools also had a dental office.
He added: – Today, there are additional health risks, including overweight and even obesity, but it has recently become apparent that problems with maintaining hygiene and similar issues are returning. On the other hand, in many schools it is now possible to identify, without much difficulty, rooms that could be adapted for functions related to providing students with first-contact healthcare following relatively inexpensive renovation. And this is work we would like to undertake.
