In former Lubin, before World War II, the regionally renowned 4th Friedrich Wilhelm Adalbert von Bredow Dragoon Regiment was stationed. It was established in 1886, and in the 1930s it was transformed into an armored motorized unit.

One of its commanders was the brother of Manfred von Richthofen, the famous Red Baron and German flying ace of World War I. The Red Baron himself visited Lubin several times.

Since 1963, the barracks have housed a school, and today we can admire a fragment of the city’s history on old postcards.
