Some call him a wizard, others a musical phenomenon. One thing is certain: Fismoll is the kind of artist whom it simply would be wrong not to hear at least once. In November, residents of Jelenia Góra will be able to discover his work in the best possible way – during a concert at which the artist will perform compositions from his debut album, released a year ago, as well as material from his upcoming record.
Arkadiusz Glensk, as Fismoll is actually known, is the best example of how young artists following an unconventional path can cause quite a positive stir on the music scene. Acoustic and lyrical music, which is what Fismoll creates, is not among the genres most frequently chosen by Poles, yet this twenty-year-old artist has managed to achieve what many performers of popular genres can only dream of.
June marked one year since the release of “At Glade”, Fismoll’s debut album. The record, intended as an intimate story about the world seen through the eyes of a young artist, made a strong impression. Its promoting single, “Let’s Play Birds”, was successful on the Trójka Chart and Radio Merkury Chart. The fairytale-like compositions earned the artist nominations for the Brand New Awards 2013 (including in the Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories) and for a Fryderyk (in the Debut of the Year category). His work began to be compared with that of Ólafur Arnalds, Bon Iver and Sigur Rós.
On 11 November, Fismoll will visit Jelenia Góra. The audience will have the opportunity to hear songs from “At Glade” and new material from his upcoming album for the first time. It will be an extraordinary musical encounter.
The artist performs with a band consisting of: Kacper Budziszewski (acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Joanna Glensk (cello, vocals), Kristine Harutyunyan (violin), Robert Amirian (bass guitar, vocals), and Jakub Szydło (drums).
