The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) initiated International Deaf Day in 1958. However, the “day” was soon extended into a “week.”

Saturday and Sunday
International Deaf Tournament for the Mayor’s Cup in the following disciplines: chess, volleyball, indoor football and darts (Integrated Schools Complex named after the Silesian Piasts, 1 K. Wierzyńskiego Street). The competition begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will be enhanced by performances from the “Balbinki” dance group and the “Ocelot” Foundation for the Promotion of Movement Culture.
Monday
A scientific conference at the State Higher Vocational School named after Witelon, followed by a tour of the city along the “In the Footsteps of Little Moscow” route (Copper Museum, Market Square).
