Dorota Piotrowska comes from Lubin, but has lived permanently in New York for several years, where she is known on the jazz scene for compositions encompassing modern motifs rooted in traditional rhythms. Her ensemble combines neo-bop and Latin music influences with references to dance and literature.
Since arriving in the United States in 2010, the young Polish drummer’s career has developed at a breathtaking pace. She has worked with outstanding musicians from the world of jazz, including George Garzone, Sam Newsome and Mike Rodriguez.
She has performed at New York’s finest jazz clubs: Iridium, Smalls, Zinc Bar, Cornelia Street Jazz Café and Lenox Lounge, as well as at the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall.
During the concert in Zgorzelec, the international quintet Dorota Piotrowska Project will perform with:

- Jeremy Pelt (trumpet)
- Ismel Wignall (percussion)
- Michał Barański (bass)
- Dominik Wania (piano).
The concert will take place on Monday, September 29, at the Zgorzelec MDK (Parkowa Street). It will begin at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets will be available on the day of the concert from 6:00 p.m. (PLN 35 – regular, PLN 25 – reduced).
