On November 19, 2014, Gmina Lubin Head Irena Rogowska received the “Euro-Gmina” statuette and certificate from Lower Silesian Deputy Voivode Ewa Mańkowska and Secretary of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Lilli Jaroń.

The “Euro-Gmina, Euro-Powiat, Euro-Partner” plebiscite gala was held in the concert hall of Polskie Radio in Wrocław. The competition jury, which included, among others, Lower Silesian Deputy Marshal Jerzy Tutaj, an adviser to the voivode and media representatives, determined that Gmina Lubin met the requirements of the best municipalities in the European Union—this time as the undisputed education leader in the region. The local government units honored were those recognized as exemplary in terms of management in specific categories. In addition to undeniable prestige, the latest European certificate gives Gmina Lubin the right to use the “Euro-Gmina” title for the next three years.

Irena Rogowska: “I am enormously pleased that our joint, long-standing effort has been noticed and appreciated by the competition jury. It is especially gratifying that Gmina Lubin has been honored for the second time, and in such an important field as education. The residents of Gmina Lubin are the beneficiaries of our work. Together, we are reaping the fruits of our efforts: we are building and opening kindergartens, new schools, modern sports facilities and village community centers. For years, we have invested in something that cannot be measured in money: the knowledge, skills and competencies of the younger generation. It is gratifying that independent and objective institutions can recognize and reward not only large metropolises, but also a rural municipality such as ours.”
