The arrest took place on September 20. Police officers were notified about the strange behavior of the driver of a scheduled bus that was supposed to travel from Karpacz to Mława. He was due to depart at 7:00 p.m., but by 9:00 p.m. he had not begun the route. What is more, the driver was behaving oddly: he was walking around the vehicle. The passengers began to suspect that he was under the influence of alcohol.

When the patrol arrived at the scene, the bus had already left the parking lot, so it was stopped for a traffic inspection. It turned out that the passengers’ suspicions were confirmed. The 46-year-old Warsaw resident was drunk and had 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

It also emerged that the 24-year-old who was supposed to replace the drunk driver on the route was also under the influence of alcohol (0.3 per mille).

The Warsaw resident now faces a sentence of up to 2 years in prison.
