On Monday, a ceremony awarding Knight’s, Gold, Silver and Bronze Crosses of Merit was held in Wrocław. At the request of the Voivode of Lower Silesia, Jerzy Zieliński, secretary of Bolesławiec, was among those awarded the Silver Cross of Merit. Jerzy Zieliński was honored for the exemplary and exceptionally conscientious performance of duties arising from his professional work.

Jerzy Zieliński is 49 years old. He graduated in Polish philology and law from the University of Wrocław. He worked as a teacher, school principal and director of the Office of the Board of Education’s Delegation, and served as Mayor of Lubań (1993–1998) and Secretary of Lubań County (1999–2002). Since January 1, 2003, he has served as Secretary of Bolesławiec.
