The tragedy occurred on Saturday, September 13 (in the evening) on the road between Węgliniec and Czerwona Woda. The road runs through forests and is also unlit, significantly limiting the visibility of pedestrians who walk there.
According to the driver's account, a resident of Węgliniec Municipality suddenly ran out of the forest. The car driver did not have time to brake. The pedestrian was hit and died at the scene.
Police are determining the causes of the accident. Officers appeal: remember to wear reflective items.
