They are officials of the Saxon government. They are particularly interested in the structures, competences, operation and mutual relations of Poland’s local-government and state administrations.

The guests asked many questions about life in our city, its character and the activities of the local administration. President Tadeusz Krzakowski introduced them to Legnica as the first administrative, economic, educational, academic and cultural centre in Lower Silesia after Wrocław. He discussed the structure of the city’s industry and economy, drawing attention to the importance of the Legnica Special Economic Zone, in which global corporations, including German companies, have invested.

The president also presented, among other things, the instruments used in Legnica to support entrepreneurship, the operation of the education system, including vocational education, as well as Legnica’s international cultural initiatives.

They also discussed opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of experience between Legnica and the cities of the state of Saxony.
