Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz is preparing three groups for a November performance. The classes are attended by children aged 6 to 10, young people aged 11 to 18, and adults. It is still possible to sign up for the free classes, which take place at CIK Orzeł on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
The classes are engaging and consist of a warm-up, preparing a text—which is learned only during the classes—and numerous exercises that teach stage expression and movement. The young people are preparing texts by Jeremi Przybora, Brzechwa and Gałczyński, as well as funny yet frightening rhymes known as “straszaki”—nineteenth-century verses intended to warn children against dangerous behavior and games.
The workshop work is dynamic, energetic and full of joy. The instructor focuses primarily on learning to feel free on stage, developing an attitude of confidence—that is, freedom from fear while on stage—and trust in one’s partners.
The workshop develops the ability to work as part of a team, as well as the ability to listen attentively and respond to stage partners’ actions using various improvisation techniques: from classical improvisation to original techniques involving both dramatic improvisation and emotional, movement-based and vocal improvisation.
Registration is available at the Cultural and Tourist Information Point at BOK-MCC, by telephone at 75.645.32.90, or during the classes held on Mondays and Wednesdays at CIK Orzeł.
