Friday afternoon and evening belonged to artists of the younger generation. The following bands performed on stage: Instytut from Wrocław, Labirytm from Milicz and Paihivo from Zgorzelec. Each group explored a different musical style. We heard a rock edge, extravagant ease and a sunny Jamaican beat. The day dedicated to youth concluded with a disco under the starry sky, where DJ Spontan presented his musical skills.

The Saturday celebrations of Zawidów Days were officially opened by Mayor Robert Łężny together with Stanisław Żuk, Chairman of the District Council, and Artur Bieliński, Zgorzelec County Starost. Taking advantage of the solemn occasion, the town’s host thanked the invited guests for their decision to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the Health Clinic in Zawidów. Words of thanks also went to the residents who had shown initiative and done something good for the town. The awards were presented by the mayor and Municipal Council Chairman Andrzej Pilarski to Józef and Czesława Korotuszowie as well as Jan Ksiądz.

The artistic programme was inaugurated by the well-known and popular band Mythos. After a touch of Greek madness and energetic sirtaki, it was time for rock sounds. For an hour, the stage belonged to the young group from Szczecin. The Last Ride won over the audience in Zawidów. The band stirred many emotions and surely gained new fans.

Before 9:00 p.m., the Polish Beatles from Polkowice appeared on the stage in Jakub Boehme Park—the band The Postman. The men looked and played like the real, legendary quartet from Liverpool. Rock ’n’ roll swept residents onto the dance floor. The atmosphere was incredible. The audience was delighted.

After the best Polish band playing Beatles music, it was time for the Żmuda Band from Jelenia Góra, which played light, lively and pleasant music. The open-air celebration continued until dawn.
