This year's ceremony inaugurating the school year was held at the E. Plater Upper-Secondary School Complex in Zgorzelec. During the ceremony, promotions, appointment documents and scholarships were presented.

Each year, Zgorzelec County Head Artur Bieliński awards scholarships to students and graduates who have achieved success in their studies, competitions, sporting events and subject olympiads.

The presentation of commemorative diplomas to the honoured students was followed by the presentation of promotions to teachers who had attained the rank of appointed teacher, as well as the taking of the oath and the presentation of documents entrusting them with the position of headteacher.

The following joined the ranks of appointed teachers: Bartłomiej Czarnecki, Rafał Pozauć (LO im. Braci Śniadeckich w Zgorzelcu); Marzena Dygas-Glapińska, Katarzyna Popko-Idziak, Małgorzata Słowińska, Remigiusz Kowalczyk (ZSZiL im. Górników i Energetyków Turowa w Zgorzelcu); Ewa Bukowska, Ewelina Durasiewicz-Konieczna, Lucyna Mikietyn-Wysocka (ZSP im. E. Plater w Zgorzelcu); Krystyna Okorska, Łukasz Leszczuk, Jolanta Chaber (MOS im. J. Korczaka w Zgorzelcu); Monika Wawrzyniak-Zbrożek (SOS-W im. M. Grzegorzewskiej w Zgorzelcu); Aneta Raplis, Michał Lisiak (ZSZ im. św. Barbary w Bogatyni).

Documents entrusting the position of headteacher for five years were received by: Agnieszka Dymarska from the Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre in Bogatynia, Katarzyna Koman from the St. Barbara Vocational School Complex in Bogatynia and Beata Lipowicz from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie General Secondary School in Bogatynia.

At the end of the ceremony, education department director Bogusława Witkowska received, from Beata Pawłowicz, Lower Silesian superintendent of education, and Stanisław Janiak, director of the Zgorzelec MOS, a gold medal commemorating the 60th anniversary of Student Sports Clubs.
