After the national anthem, performed by the PGE GiEK S.A. Turów Lignite Mine Branch Brass Band, was played and all the guests and residents who had gathered were welcomed on behalf of the mayor, Ryszard Kosiński, president of the Association of Combatants of the Republic of Poland and Former Political Prisoners and the Association of War Invalids, Ryszard Kosiński and representatives of the local authorities delivered commemorative speeches in which they spoke about the significance of the events 75 years ago and emphasized the heroism and merits of the soldiers who fell during World War II.
Then Dean Maciej Wesołowski said a prayer for the liberators of the homeland.
After the prayer, the Roll Call of the Fallen began, concluding with a volley fired by the honor company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec. After the volley, the miners’ band played “Rota.” The ceremony concluded with all the delegations present laying wreaths and flowers at the Eagle Monument.
The mayor extends heartfelt thanks to the flag-bearing delegations whose presence added distinction to the ceremony.
The 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec and the 17th Greater Poland Mechanized Brigade organized an exceptional display of military equipment, during which visitors could see, among other things, the KTO Rosomak (an armored personnel carrier), the WR-40 Langusta (a rocket launcher), the Dana (a self-propelled howitzer), and small arms.
