On 30 and 31 August, at the Jelenia Góra Aeroclub airfield, we will inaugurate this event with two days of concerts featuring bands from the Jelenia Góra region’s music scene, as well as stars T.Love and Dawid Podsiadło. This is also a special time for the band Leniwiec, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of artistic work this year.
The first day of September is traditionally a great celebration of music. On that day, the 17th Silesia Sonans Festival begins, featuring concerts enriched by the beautiful, romantic sound of the 76-voice Baroque organ dating from 1727.
The weekend of 6–7 September will be marked by outdoor events: fairs and exhibitions, namely the 12th “Made under Śnieżka” Regional Products Exhibition, the 45th Karkonosze Minerals, Rocks and Fossils Exchange, the 15th International Beekeeping Workshops and the 27th Ecological Fair. 6 September will also see the nationwide “National Reading. Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Trilogy” campaign. The Cyprian Kamil Norwid Theatre has prepared productions for that day referring to three works written “to lift people’s spirits”.
The following days will bring important cultural events: a concert inaugurating the 51st artistic season at the Lower Silesian Philharmonic (12 September), the 11th BAREJAda (19–20 September), whose star will be Stanisława Celińska, and the 25th anniversary of the PAKA Cabaret’s activity. At their invitation, well-known and popular performers will visit Jelenia Góra: Artur Andrus, Zenon Laskowik, Andrzej Poniedzielski, and the cabaret groups Adin, Hrabi and Łowcy.B. It all takes place on 22 September!
Jelenia Góra September also includes major sporting events: the Grand Prix Jelenia Góra Trophy Maja Włoszczowska MTB Race, held in several age categories from amateurs to the world’s leading mountain bikers on 20–21 September, and the Karkonosze Open International Ballroom Dancing Tournament, taking place on the last weekend of the month, for which nearly 700 couples have already announced their participation.
The celebration of Jelenia Góra will conclude with one of the largest antique and curiosities fairs in Poland—the Jarmark Staroci i Osobliwości—and the Jelenia Góra Theatre Meetings, during which the best Polish productions will be presented on the stage of the Jelenia Góra theatre, including those by Teatr Szwalnia from Łódź, Teatr Polonia and Buffo from Warsaw, and Wrocławski Teatr Lalek.
There will also be accompanying events, opening receptions and temporary exhibitions presented and prepared by Jelenia Góra’s cultural institutions.
