This is another investment in the city carried out as part of the “Safe Pedestrian Crossings” programme. New street lamps have also been installed in this area.
Residents of the area had requested the installation of a street lamp and improved lighting at the crossing. Special lamps now direct a beam of light onto the crossing so that pedestrians are more visible to drivers.
The roadway lighting will also improve the comfort and safety of driving. The city allocated approximately PLN 50,000 for the project.
Legnica is consistently implementing its safe crossings programme. As part of it, 30 such locations have already received improved lighting.
