130 people from Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County went to the seaside. The children stayed at the “Barka” Holiday Centre in Jarosławiec during three sessions.
Thanks to the funds obtained, a large group of children (approximately 90%) received subsidies for their holiday. The following institutions provided funding for the subsidies: Bolesławiec Municipal Office, District Office for children with disabilities (TPD camps have been inclusive camps for several years). Funding from the Polska Miedź Foundation was a great help.
For several years now, the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec has also financed camps for children under its care. This year, 35 children from large and impoverished families, who could not afford to pay for the camp, went on the trip. “We would like to sincerely thank all the donors on behalf of the children,” emphasizes Jadwiga Bobek, head of TPD in Bolesławiec.
The children had a rich programme at the camps: a boat trip, an excursion to the Charlotta Valley (feeding seals, a fairy-tale land, a small zoo), a ropes course, trampoline jumping, an amber museum, and sailing (for older young people).
The carefully selected team of educators ensured that the children’s time was filled with attractive activities, leaving no room for boredom. The educators were supported by volunteers who paid particular attention to the children with disabilities. Every effort was made to ensure that the holiday was safe.
