“We plan,” the mayor emphasized, “for the first of them to begin its route in Zabobrze (Kiepury, Małcużyńskiego and Sygietyńskiego streets), then travel through Os. Robotnicze and Podwale to Skłodowskiej Street, then to Mała Poczta, and via Lipowa, Okopowa and Os. Pomorskie—to the Industrial Zone (Spółdzielcza Street). From Lubańska, it will run along Sobieszowska Street and Rataja to the Orle housing estate, where the line will terminate.
The second route would run from Powstańców Wielkopolskich Street, then along Lipowa, Okopowa, Spółdzielcza and Objazdowa streets to the PKP railway station in Cieplice, from there to the “Pod Koroną” pharmacy and onward along Staszica and Pod Wałami streets to Orle. It would end at the terminus in Sobieszów.
The main purpose of routing the lines this way is to serve employees in the Industrial Zone. Therefore, the operating hours have been synchronized with the shift schedules at the existing plants and consulted with employers’ representatives. In addition, opening the section of Spółdzielcza Street from Lubańska to Trasa Czeska practically creates, for the first time, an opportunity to establish another route connecting Cieplice with Zabobrze, as until now this was possible only via Wolności Street.
“The final preparations for launching these lines are under way,” says Marcin Zawiła. “Of course, permanent stops and other elements necessary for passenger transport will be created as quickly as possible. For now, the priority is to ensure fast and efficient commuting to work and returning home for the many Jelenia Góra residents working in the Zone.”
