Officers from the Border Guard post in Jelenia Góra conducted an operation yesterday to check the legality of foreigners’ residence and employment in Poland. At a hotel in Szklarska Poręba, they detained a Ukrainian woman; her employer had entrusted her with work in violation of the applicable regulations.

The officers found that the foreign national employed in the hotel kitchen was working without the required work permit. It also turned out that the Ukrainian citizen was an undesirable person in Poland. She had previously failed to comply with Polish law and had been required to leave Poland. She has now been ordered to leave the country within 15 days. She will not be allowed to enter the Republic of Poland for two years.

The officers are also conducting proceedings against the employer. For employing the foreign national in violation of the applicable regulations, the employer will be fined no less than PLN 3,000.
