Under the pseudonym Yaga is Jadwiga Kowalik – a composer and vocalist, graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow and the Paris Conservatoire Mobel. During her stay in France, she became fascinated by the work of Barbara, namely Monique Serf, an outstanding poet, composer and singer. Yaga arranged her songs and successfully performed them on stages throughout Poland. She is currently associated with the Krakow-based French Song Theatre.

We will hear Yaga performing the repertoire of Juliette Greco – another great French singer and actress. The composers of her songs included Miles Davis and Joseph Kosma. Jean Cocteau and Jean Paul Sartre wrote lyrics for the music. Her collaboration with these artists resulted in many hits that achieved worldwide fame. The concert will feature the greatest hits of this extraordinary personality of the French stage.

Yaga will be accompanied on the accordion by Walentyn Dubrowskij – a multi-instrumentalist who plays the piano, accordion, melodica, guitar and bass, as well as an accompanist and arranger. He graduated from the Department of Musicology at the Petro Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Kyiv. He has lived in Krakow since 1993, where he works with many artists and artistic groups.

The concert will take place on 17 August in the Gazebo in the Park by CK “Muza”. It begins at 6:00 p.m.. Admission is free.
