On the anniversary of the death of Ludwik Gadzicki, on November 6, 2014, Teatr Modrzejewskiej will present the Ludwik Award for the second time. It will go to a person who goes beyond the social conventions of the residents of the Copper Basin. Candidates may now be nominated.

There are no formal barriers or restrictions for people, organizations and institutions wishing to nominate a candidate, or for candidates who may nominate themselves. The only requirement is that the candidate live or work in the counties of Głogów, Polkowice, Lubin or Legnica and that an application containing a presentation and justification for granting the distinction be submitted by September 20, 2014 (the rules and application form are available at www.teatr.legnica.pl).

The award, funded by the Legnica theater, consists of PLN 5,000 and a statuette. It will be presented on November 6, 2014, during a ceremonial gala held on the main stage of Legnica’s Teatr Modrzejewskiej im. Ludwika Gadzickiego.

In the first edition, the monetary part of the award was funded by the ARLEG Regional Development Agency in Legnica. The theater is also seeking a sponsor for the second edition.

The first recipient of the Ludwik Award was Cezary Bukowski, a music expert, writer and co-founder of the Blue Monk jazz club and foundation. He is a man of many passions and abilities.
