A reader asked us to address the issue. In an email to the editorial office, he wrote: “I believe there are regulations specifying the height at which road signs should be mounted on poles. Walking along the pavement from Bielska Street to the roundabout, I hit my head on a sign indicating a pedestrian crossing near the park, and I am about 1.79 metres tall.” He added: “I was not injured, but some people are taller and this could be a problem.”
We contacted Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec City Hall, about the matter. Municipal officials investigated the report and agreed with our reader. The city office ordered the signs to be raised.
