The Crystal Clover is a prestigious award at the provincial level, presented to the ten best local community activists who, through their work and selfless effort, change what needs changing while simultaneously preserving what is good and valuable in rural areas. One such person is a resident of Gmina Bolesławiec – Alicja Janiec.
A ceremonial conclusion of the Crystal Clover competition took place at the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wrocław. The awards were presented by a member of the Board of the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship – Włodzimierz Chlebosz – and the director of the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wrocław – Ryszard Czerwiński.
Ten of the 26 local activists nominated for the competition were selected and awarded statuettes. Alicja Janiec was among them. “This award is the culmination of my work to date, not only for Lipiany but for the entire municipality,” said the competition laureate.
Alicja Janiec initiated the creation of the themed village Wioska Smaków, is a leader of the Lower Silesian Village Renewal programme, and is actively involved as chairwoman of the Housewives' Association and chairwoman of the Forum for Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women.
Every day, she mobilizes the local community to take action, organizes the daily activities of Lipiany residents, and promotes the village within the municipality and beyond its borders through her work. Thanks to her hard work and commitment, positive changes can be seen every day in Lipiany, both in the village's external environment and in the mindset of its residents. The 1st Balkan Pita Festival, organized last year, not only united the local community but also brought renown to Wioska Smaków. Activities organized by the Active Women’s Association regularly attract people from all over the country to Lipiany to take part in culinary workshops.
We congratulate Alicja Janiec and wish her continued success.
