In the category of urban and urban-rural municipalities, Bolesławiec ranked third in the overall 2013 classification of the Nationwide Ranking of the Association of Polish Counties. Experts evaluate, among other things, pro-investment and development-oriented activities; the development of the information society; the development of civil society; strengthening information security management systems; promoting healthcare and social assistance solutions; supporting activities for the market economy; promoting eco-energy and environmentally friendly solutions; and promoting solutions in education, culture and sport.
The ranking classification depends on the projects completed and the results achieved in the evaluated areas of activity. The ceremonial presentation of the awards for the 2013 Ranking of Municipalities and Counties of the Association of Polish Counties took place during the Nationwide Congress of Regions in Świdnica. The cup and diploma for Bolesławiec were accepted by Tomasz Gabrysiak, head of the City Development and Promotion Department.
