On Friday, June 27, at 8:00 p.m. at the “Orzeł” Cultural Integration Centre, the premiere of “35mm of Life” will take place. The film was made by participants in the Film Education Workshop of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre. It is the workshop’s fifth major project. The young people worked on it for several months. Admission to the screening is free. Everyone is very warmly invited!
The film tells the story of Stanisław, an older man, film enthusiast and projectionist. His inner peace is disturbed by the arrival of a new employee, Mariusz. How will Stanisław’s life change? Must old age be depressing, and is intergenerational dialogue possible? These are among the questions the young filmmakers sought to answer in their film.
“Our latest film is also the most mature production created by the Workshop. We are gradually moving away from teenagers’ school-related problems; the young people have grown up and are looking for more mature subjects,” says the workshop’s supervisor, Michał Szwed.
The film’s director, Szymon Wasylów, has been involved with the Workshop almost since its beginning: “The classes conducted by Michał Szwed as part of the PEF developed my interest in film and my desire to continue learning. This is how another year passes, bringing another challenge and new opportunities. Despite my professional responsibilities and my own projects, I took on the task of working with my younger colleagues because they are very talented people. I invite you to see the result on June 27 at the ‘Orzeł’ Cultural Integration Centre.”
