The Museum of Ceramics at Kutuzowa Street is hosting an anniversary exhibition prepared to mark the 60th anniversary of Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury.

The main part of the exhibition consists of artworks by participants in classes led by Joanna Mysłek-Michnowska, Magdalena Konieczna and Katarzyna Sas. They include drawings and graphics, as well as ceramic works, batik pieces and stained glass. One section of the exhibition also presents handicrafts made in Ewa Wojciechowska’s workshop.

The second part of the exhibition presents the achievements of the technical, theater and dance workshops, including the “Mały Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble, which has been an emblem of MDK for years.

Considerable space is devoted to one of the longest-running modeling workshops at MDK, led since 1974 by Jan Aljanowicz. Among the numerous aircraft models is a modern remotely controlled unmanned aerial vehicle, known as a “drone,” demonstrating how the nature of the classes has changed.

The Museum also presents the impressive achievements of the sports bridge section led by Roland Lippik. Despite their young age and limited experience, its members win numerous medals at competitions in Poland and abroad, including Polish Championship medals. In addition, boards featuring information and photographs present all MDK workshops operating in the 2013/2014 school year. The exhibition is complemented by a film presenting the history of the institution.
