The spartakiad began with the presentation of the teams and the singing of the European Union anthem. The artistic part opening the sports competition was enhanced by a performance by cheerleaders training under the supervision of physical education teacher Aleksandra Kojder. In addition to a dance routine, the girls demonstrated their acrobatic skills, for which they were rewarded with loud applause.

The director of the School and Kindergarten Complex in Bożejowice, Anna Rudzik, spoke about how impatiently the youngest residents of Bolesławiec Municipality had awaited their Czech friends. Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Bolesławiec Municipality Roman Jaworski, who officially opened the First Municipal Kindergarten Spartakiad, expressed his thanks for the hard work and commitment of those who contributed to organising this international competition.

The young athletes competed in six agility and fitness challenges. The events in which the children took part included obstacle-course races, sack races, walking on large feet, races carrying a ball on a spoon, potato planting and throwing at a moving target. In the final event, the teachers tested their own physical skills by catching with a bucket the small bags thrown by the children. The kindergarteners demonstrated excellent physical fitness, speed and dexterity, as well as the ability to work in a group and knowledge of the rules of fair play.

Alongside the sporting competition, the spartakiad was accompanied by excellent entertainment. Special recognition went to the supporters, who cheered on their teams and encouraged them to fight with loud chants. Although the competition was fierce, all participants ultimately emerged as winners. On this occasion, representatives of Bolesławiec Municipal Office presented pencil cases, medals, sweets and commemorative certificates. Bolesławiec Municipality also prepared small gifts for all the competitors and their supervisors. Finally, it was time for a group photograph.

The First Municipal Kindergarten Spartakiad was held as part of the second activity of the project entitled “Young Athletes Get to Know Their Neighbours”, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and by the state budget with the support of the Neisse Euroregion. The aim of the project is to establish cooperation with towns in the Polish-Czech border region in order to promote international contacts through the exchange of experience in working with children and the popularisation of knowledge about traditions, customs and cultural heritage. The project coordinators are early childhood education teachers at the Public Kindergarten in Bożejowice: Małgorzata Jarczyńskaand Kinga Palczewska.
