The exhibition “Toys Then and Now” has been divided into three sections. The first presents contemporary Czech wooden toys inspired by products from the past – figurines, building blocks, games and various types of puzzles. The second section consists of metal toys originating, among others, from Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, England, and even Japan and China. It features various types of vehicles, wind-up mechanical toys in a variety of shapes, sewing and typewriting machines, as well as shop cash registers that were once every girl’s dream.
The third section of the exhibition features figurines and objects made from Lego bricks, thematically connected with all the films in the “Star Wars” series. There is a helmet worn by a soldier from “Attack of the Clones,” the helmet of the bounty hunter Boba Fett, models of spacecraft and, of course, a lightsaber. This is a major attraction not only for children, but for all fans of this cult work by George Lucas.
The children who visit the Museum on Sunday, June 1, can take part in themed art activities and presentations, and enjoy sweet refreshments.
Admission to the exhibition is free. The exhibition will be open until the end of June. Organized groups are asked to reserve tour times in advance by calling 75 64422 00 or 75 64447 00, or by email at poczta@muzeum.boleslawiec.net.
