Tesco opened its doors on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Hundreds of residents of our city visited the store throughout the day. Drivers found it difficult to find a free parking space. People standing in checkout lines also had to be patient.
The new hypermarket provided jobs for around 130 people from Bolesławiec and the surrounding area. Half of them had previously been unemployed. The Bolesławiec Tesco has 4,900 m² of retail space and 16 checkout counters. Around 200 parking spaces were built around the hypermarket.
Residents of Bolesławiec and the county have an increasingly wide choice of shops where they can buy a variety of goods. Unfortunately, the situation on the local fuel market has not changed, and prices remain high. During the construction of Tesco, some residents of Bolesławiec hoped that a cheaper fuel station would be built next to the hypermarket. Perhaps Tesco will fulfil these hopes next year. However, so far there is no sign of either a fuel station or its construction.
