The Bolesławiec clean-up campaign (held as part of the World Earth Day celebrations) ran from 28 March to 2 April. Nearly 2,700 people took part (students from Bolesławiec primary and lower-secondary schools, as well as preschool children). In total, approximately 13 m³ (two full trailers) of waste was collected.
Some people, however, have no regard for the efforts of the children. A few days later, an illegal waste dump was discovered near the Bolesławiec viaduct. Red glass, probably originating from a demolition project, had been dumped there. Efforts to identify the perpetrator are currently under way.
