The Blues Night in Bolesławiec concert will take place in the welcoming surroundings of the ENVY club at 4 10 Marca Street (the former Vega, next to Carrefour). The event starts at 8:00 p.m. Admission is only 10 zlotys. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the concert.

– The event did not take place last year, mainly because Maciek was unavailable as he was acting in the TV series “Wawa Non Stop” – says Dariusz Uściński, the organizer and a member of Chłopaki z Ferajny. – This year we are returning to blues-rock music, and as many as four bands from Bolesławiec will appear on stage: Chłopaki z Ferajny, Mercedes Band, Powerebel and Monsun.

“Chłopaki z Ferajny” is a band whose members include both winners of the “Blues nad Bobrem” festival and lecturers at the workshops organized as part of the event. The musicians of “Chłopaki…” currently also play in other lineups, including Obstawa Prezydenta, Sumptuastic and Mercedes Band. The band focuses mainly on sounds typical of rhythm & blues and rock.

“Mercedes Band” has existed, with breaks, for 25 years. The Mercedes Band trio plays vibrant, feisty rock ’n’ roll—a blend of heavy blues with influences from AC/DC and ZZ Top. The band reunited in May 2011 for Blues Night in Bolesławiec, the event’s third edition, which united and revitalized Bolesławiec’s music community and also brought musicians originally from the city back to Bolesławiec.

“Powerebel” was formed at the end of 2011 in Bolesławiec. Their music is a blend of southern rock with elements of blues rock and country, though they also do not shy away from heavier sounds. The band’s hit is the song “Hoka Hey,” during which, the band assures us, headdresses fall from heads and bras fly through the air.

“Monsum” is the latest project of Bolesławiec guitarist Wojtek Szajwaj. Their performance at the sixth edition of BNiB will be their stage debut.

Blues Night in Bolesławiec is a music event organized since 2008. The idea was born while rehearsals of the “Chłopaki z Ferajny” band were being held several times a year. The first edition of BNiB took place at the now-defunct Shanghai pub, when the band’s vocalist, Maciej Tylenda, came up with the idea of moving the gatherings from the rehearsal room to a music stage open to the public. A year later, Darek Uściński and Jan Dudek joined the organizers. Together, as the BNiB Initiative Group, they organized subsequent editions of the event in various locations (Concordia, MOSiR, Piłsudski Square and Bolesławiec Market Square).
