The concert, organized as part of the grassroots initiative of Bolesławiec musicians titled “Blues Night in Bolesławiec”, will take place for the seventh time this year at the Jazzva restaurant (pl. Piłsudskiego1c). “Blues Night” is a musical event with traditions dating back to 2008. The idea was born while rehearsals of the “Chłopaki z Ferajny” band were being organized several times a year. The first BNiB edition took place at the now-defunct Shanghai pub, when the band’s vocalist, Maciej Tylenda, came up with the idea of moving the musical gatherings of a group of friends from the rehearsal room to a stage open to the public. Together with Darek Uściński and Janek Dudek, as the BNiB Initiative Group, they organized subsequent editions of the event in various locations (Concordia, MOSiR, Piłsudskiego Square, Bolesławiec Market Square, Envy club).
“Last year, due to scheduling conflicts, we did not organize a ‘blues night’,” says Dariusz Uściński, a member of Chłopaki z Ferajny. “This year we are returning to the tradition of these somewhat spontaneous, but well-received blues gatherings for the Bolesławiec audience. I hope that on Friday evening we will fill the entire club… especially since the concert will not require tickets! We are playing solely for your—and our own—pleasure.”
Performing will be
Nocne Boogie, a three-member Legnica–Bolesławiec group that has been playing intermittently since 1985. They began in Legnica as a garage band. They have performed at numerous local and national festivals, including Jarocin and Blues nad Bobrem. They perform their own repertoire, though their work contains numerous quotations and references to compositions by masters of the genre. Chłopaki z ferajny is a band whose members include both winners of the “Blues nad Bobrem” festival and instructors at the workshops organized as part of the event. The band focuses mainly on sounds typical of rhythm & blues and rock. Band lineup: Maciej Tylenda – vocals, Wojtek Szajwaj – guitar, Dariusz Uściński – guitar, Tomek Bubieńczyk – drums, Mario – keyboards, Sławek Zimkiewicz – bass, Andrzej Malcher – bass, and Marcin Gorzecki – harmonica.
