The fifth edition of Blues Night in Bolesławiec, held on Saturday, 14 July, in Bolesławiec’s Market Square, was the culmination of the Polish-German music workshop “Sound Pictures,” organised by Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury-Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki.

The audience could see what the workshop participants had learned at the beginning of the concert. Three workshop combos performed for the Bolesławiec audience. They were followed by Powerebel (a substantial dose of southern rock with elements of country and blues) and the group Freski from Görlitz.

The first strictly Bolesławiec-based band to perform on the Market Square stage was Mercedes Band (featuring: Sławomir „Zipek” Ziemkiewicz, Rafał „Łąka” Wiese and Tomek Bubieńczyk).

The energetic performance by Chłopaki z Ferajny, joined as a guest by keyboard player Daniel Grupa, lasted more than an hour. The band presented original arrangements of songs from the repertoires of the greatest blues and rock legends.

Next, Trzynasta w Samo Południe took over the stage. This Wrocław-based band is very well known to Bolesławiec residents—the group won last year’s Rock Blok at BOK. The evening’s star was the well-known Obstawa Prezydenta.
