Other drivers alerted police officers about a Mercedes travelling in the wrong lane of the A4 motorway. The 74-year-old German passed officers from the Legnica traffic police. He was speeding at over 150 km/h against traffic. The officers gave chase. They caught up with the Mercedes, but its driver did not respond to signals to stop, so the police overtook him and, by blocking his way, forced him to do so.
The 74-year-old was sober. At the time of his arrest, he became aggressive. The officers had to use force to pull him out of the car. The German citizen now faces up to 8 years in prison.
