Today, we can admire the beauty of many buildings only on old postcards – writes Sebastian Zielonka.
The present-day Kruszyn consists of four settlements: Duży Kruszyn, Mały Kruszyn, Świeborowice and Godnów. The first three settlements have medieval origins, while Godnów was established in the 18th century as an enclave for the religious community of the Moravian Brethren.
The localities were famous for their numerous restaurants with magnificent ballrooms, a renowned brewery known throughout the area, and peasant farms that supplied the local market with the necessary products. In Duży Kruszyn, we can admire a superbly restored palace with a park, which impresses with its beauty and harmony. Unfortunately, the cemetery located near the farm buildings has not survived to our times.
The palace is associated with numerous legends and famous figures who visited its walls. After numerous wartime upheavals, monuments remained that bear witness to the fate of these lands. Today, we can admire the beauty of many buildings only on old postcards.
