The artist works in the studio of artistic supervisor Mateusz Grobelny at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre. Bolesławiec residents had the opportunity to admire Joanna Brudzińska’s work during a highly successful exhibition held last May at the BOK-MCC gallery.
Joanna Brudzińska was born in 1967 in Bolesławiec. She lives in Nowa. She has been interested in art since her youth. However, fate made her wait a long time before she began to pursue it. Her adventure truly began in 2011, when she took part in a souvenir-making course. There she met Dariusz Miliński, who invited her to a plein-air painting workshop. From that moment on, the artist has devoted every free moment to creating. Her greatest fascination is clay, so she spends most of her time in the Bolesławiec studio.
Sculpture will be the main focus of the exhibition in Kromnów. This is the technique in which the artist feels most fulfilled and which most accurately conveys what is playing in her soul. Meticulously crafted works speak to the imagination. The artist will present primarily clay busts and bas-reliefs featuring human faces.
The paintings will complement the exhibition, transporting us to a somewhat fairy-tale world. In style, the works refer to the paintings of Dariusz Miliński, under whose guidance Brudzińska honed her painting skills. The second subject of the paintings is still life. Everyday objects bathed in delicate, warm light take on new meaning, radiating beauty and simplicity that captivates.
The opening in Kromnów will take place on 25 January at 5:00 p.m. The exhibition can be visited free of charge until 6 March during the opening hours of the Artystyczna Galeria Izerska (Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.).
