Piotr Markiewicz, Sławomir Głowacki, Krzysztof Jędrzejczyk and Joanna Turczyńska were the winners of the photographic competition “Exceptional Places in My Town,” organized by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre in cooperation with the “Camera” Photographic Association and the “Obiektywni” Photographic Association.
The jury awarded Piotr Markiewicz a special prize for his series of photographs of Bolesławiec. Sławomir Głowacki took first place, Krzysztof Jędrzejczyk came second, and Joanna Turczyńska took third place. In the professionals’ category, the jury awarded an honourable mention to Grzegorz Sidorowicz.
Entries were submitted by 20 photography enthusiasts: 19 in the amateurs’ category and one in the professionals’ category. The entries were assessed by a jury comprising: Magdalena Konieczna (visual artist), Grzegorz Matoryn (photographer), and Tomasz Powroźnik (photography enthusiast).
The ceremonial opening and awards presentation will take place at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre on 30 January at 7:00 p.m.
Below, we present the photographs for which Piotr Markiewicz received the special award. The winning entries and those selected for the exhibition will be on display in February in the CIK–Orzeł building.
