In the second match of the return round, the Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie team faced Ogień Żmigród away. In October, the Bolesławiec players confidently defeated the Żmigród team 3:0 on their home court. Unfortunately, in the away match, the opponents proved better. The Żmigród team defeated BTS 3:2 (25:21, 18:25, 25:21, 15:25, 15:7).
Update
The match started badly for the Bolesławiec players. The hosts quickly built a substantial lead. It was 1:5. Our volleyball players began to make up the deficit and even took the lead, but then the Żmigród players equalized and from that moment began dictating the pace on the court again, winning the first set 25:21.
The Bolesławiec players woke up in the second set and confidently won it 25:18, bringing the set score to 1–1. Unfortunately, in the next set the opponents were once again more effective, defeating our team 25:21. It was already clear that the plan could not be fulfilled and the expected three points could not be secured. The fight for two points remained. In the fourth set, BTS showed what it was capable of, winning by as much as 25:15. Unfortunately, the opponents again prevailed in the tie-break, defeating the Bolesławiec team 15:7 and thus winning the entire match 3:2.
The volleyball players from Żmigród felt at home on their own court. They were a completely different team from the one we had the opportunity to watch in October in the Bolesławiec ZSOiZ sports hall. As one of the Żmigród players said after the December match, Ogień’s attacker had played at 10% of his ability in the October match. Here, things were decidedly different. Our team, meanwhile, played with a depleted squad because of numerous injuries and health problems.
In the next match, our volleyball players will face the league leaders—the team from Oleśnica—away. It certainly will not be easy, but BTS announces that it is going to Oleśnica to claim three points.
BTS Bolesławiec: Arkadiusz Folga, Wojciech Nitecki, Tomasz Włoszczyński (captain), Damian Śliwiński, Paweł Zakrzewski, Jakub Czyżewski, Kamil Biczak (libero), as well as Paweł Rutkowski, Łukasz Krawiec and Robert Walkowiak. The team’s coach is Krzysztof Mosiądz.
