The Bolesławiec Volleyball Association team faced Pogoń Góra on its home court. The players from Bolesławiec thrashed their opponents 3–0 (25–10, 25–11, 25–23). The winning team’s coach is Krzysztof Mosiądz.
“The first two sets went smoothly,” says Krzysztof Mosiądz, coach of the Bolesławiec team and vice-president of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association. “The third set did not quite go our way. Not because we underestimated our opponents, but perhaps we relaxed a little after winning the first two sets so easily.”
“The first round of the competition is behind us,” continues the BTS coach. “On 7 December, we begin the return round. In the first match, we will face Legnica. A win against that team will allow us to overtake them in the standings. And if we maintain our winning streak, we will take second place in the table.”
“The club was created by several enthusiasts. We entered the team in the fourth league, but as a result of the reorganization of the league competitions, we are playing in the third,” explains Jacek Łuczkowski, president of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association. “What happened exceeded our wildest expectations. It is incredible. And we achieved it without a budget or a strategic sponsor.”
“There is interest in volleyball in this city,” adds the head of BTS. “Importantly, the team consists of friends from the neighborhood. It is not a mercenary army, as in Oleśnica, where players were brought in from all over the country. These are people from Bolesławiec who know and like one another. That is why such a fantastic atmosphere prevails both in our team and in the stands.”
The match was enhanced by a performance from a dance group from GCKiS in Nowogrodziec, whose members are taught by Krystyna Abramowicz. BTS will play its next match on 7 December on its home court. Our volleyball players will face a team from Legnica. “This will be a key match, deciding second place in the group,” announces Jacek Łuczkowski. “All hands on deck!”
The BTS president thanks the employees of the Bolesławiec-based Elektros company, who repaired the electronic scoreboard and lighting, as well as everyone who supports the club.
