The headmaster of the Second General Secondary School Mirosław Sakowski invites you to the opening of Krystyna Raszka’s watercolour painting exhibition, which will take place on 6 November (Wednesday) at 5:00 p.m. at the Michał Twerd Gallery (II LO, Dolne Młyny Street).
Krystyna Raszka. By education, conviction and great passion, she is a Polish philologist. By calling, she is a teacher. Before retiring, she worked, among other places, in Raciborowice, at Primary School No. 4, Primary School No. 5, ZPO and General Secondary School No. 1. For several years she was a Polish Scouting and Guiding Association instructor, running and co-organising scouting camps.
For the past 10 years, she has been actively spending her retirement. Since 2002, she has worked with PCEiKK as a Polish-language consultant and methodological adviser. As the originator and author, she organises seven editions of Polish-language competitions for primary- and lower-secondary-school pupils every year. She has authored more than 40 online methodological publications (www.scholaris.pl).
In 2003, she established a garden on Chrobrego Street. It received distinctions several times in the Bolesławiec “City in Flowers” competition. She works with MDK; most recently, she led Poets’ Nights as an animator. She promises that the meetings will resume. This is only part of her activity. In addition, she travels. She has a wide range of interests.
She has been painting for eight years. She is self-taught. So far, she has presented her work at two solo exhibitions (in 2007 and 2013) and three group exhibitions. Between 2006 and 2010, she repeatedly displayed her work in one of the windows of the Agora bookshop.
The upcoming exhibition focuses on flowers and Italy. “Watercolour has always fascinated me. However, a lack of time and professional responsibilities did not allow me to pick up a brush. Today, I am inspired by flowers and the places I discover, above all Paris and Tuscany,” says the artist.
