Following a brief introduction by Edyta Orlińska, an instructor at BOK-MCC, the participants decorated the pumpkins they had been given. Using markers, they drew eyes, noses and mouths, giving their pumpkins an original appearance. With the help of their guardians, they cut, carved and decorated pumpkin lanterns. Each pumpkin had a distinct character: some were cheerful and smiling, while others were menacing and frightening. The children were proud of their work and eagerly presented it. They took the finished lanterns home to light them after dark.
