Blood donation is great—that was the premise of a group of students from the Jan Kochanowski Complex of Commercial and Service Schools in Bolesławiec, who donated blood from a bloodmobile on October 23. The “Handlówka” students donated a total of 5.4 liters of blood.

“I have wanted to donate blood since primary school. I’m glad that I finally did it. It is one of the dreams that has come true,” says 18-year-old Oskar Grubizna. The event’s initiators, Mateusz Zwolak and Maciej Mazurkiewicz, add in unison: “Blood donation is a wonderful initiative that saves human lives. We never know whether we may need such help in the future, so it is worth doing while also setting an example for others.”

“We have organized this type of drive at the school many times. Our young people are aware that it is an essential activity and are eager to take part in such initiatives,” emphasizes Wiesław Stefanik, the school’s principal.

Soon, an honorary blood donors’ group is to be established at “Handlówka.”
