The jury of the 9th International Biennale of Contemporary Artistic Textile for Children and Young People “Sileziany 2013” recognized the following artists by qualifying them for the exhibition: Nicola Barycka, Alicja Łacina and Zuzanna Woźnica. The laureates attend the BOK-MCC Glass and Stained Glass Studio run by Magdalena Konieczna. The opening of the post-competition exhibition will take place on 24 October in Bytom.
Sileziany is an artistic event and a platform for meetings, joint creative activities involving both young and professional artists, and the exchange of artistic and educational experiences. The aim of Sileziany is to develop creative activity and promote contemporary fibre art. The format of this event—exhibitions by children and professional artists, as well as workshops—provides an opportunity for reflection on textiles, their origins, present and future directions of development.
