Mammography (an X-ray examination of the breasts) is the most effective method of detecting early signs of breast cancer. Soon, this examination will once again be available in the Fado Centrum Usług Medycznych mammobus, belonging to the Lux Med group, which on 7 October will visit Gromadka and stop at the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre (9 Szkolna Street).

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a good opportunity to get screened! Find out whether your wife, mother and sister take part in preventive breast examinations!

Women aged 50 to 69 are entitled to a free examination under the Population-Based Early Breast Cancer Detection Programme, funded by the National Health Fund (NFZ). Mammography takes only a few minutes and involves taking four X-ray images—two projections of each breast. There is no need to fear the examination, as the radiation it emits is no greater than that used for a dental X-ray. It makes it possible to identify and detect so-called asymptomatic changes (lumps and other abnormalities in the breast) at a very early stage of development—when they cannot yet be felt by the woman or a doctor, which significantly increases the chance of recovery.

Please register in advance by telephone or via the website. The Call Center is open 7 days a week: 586 662 444, 801 080 007.
