Contrary to earlier plans, only 12 bands will perform this coming Saturday in the Forum hall as part of the Nationwide Music Band Competition "Rock Blok w BOK".

"Only 12 bands play at a reasonably even and high level. To ensure that the anniversary event runs smoothly, we decided to limit the number of bands auditioned," explains Iwona Bojko from the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre.

The competition will begin on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Each performance will be assessed by a professional jury. This year, it will consist of: Jacek Krzaklewski (Perfect), Marek Raduli (πR2), Wojciech Pilichowski (plays with Kasia Kowalska), and Marek Szpyra (Panorama Dolnośląska). A final five will be selected from among the bands and will compete the following day for the competition's main prize: PLN 2,000 and the opportunity to record an album at Jacek Krzeklewski's "Bluesaw" studio. The best instrumentalists and vocalist will also receive distinctions. The two-day event will be hosted by Arek Włodarski, a journalist with Muzyczne Radio.

Bands qualified for the auditions:

  • Beltaine (Warszawa)
  • Dissent (Bolesławiec)
  • Error (Bytom)
  • Inser Coin (Wrocław)
  • Izmair (Leśna)
