One of the items on the second day of the conference “Innovative Methods of Using Mineral Resources for Economic Development in the Neisse – Nisa – Nysa Euroregion” was the signing of an agreement on climate-protection activities between Bolesławiec County and Rhein-Sieg County.

The aim of the project “Two Degrees More – and What Does That Mean? Climate Protection at the Local Level as a Factor in the Fight Against Poverty”, led by Rhein-Sieg County, is to provide information about the effects of climate change (using South American countries as an example), as well as to present effective measures aimed at protecting the climate and methods of adapting to these changes.

The agreement was signed by starosta Cezary Przybylski, member of the Bolesławiec County Board Dariusz Kwaśniewski, and Annerose Heinze from Rhein-Sieg County. “I am pleased with this agreement,” the starosta emphasized. “This is an extremely important project that forms part of the long-standing cooperation between our counties. We are building this agreement with the future in mind, not the present.”

Both local governments declared that they would undertake educational activities. These will include, among other things, presenting a traveling exhibition in schools and other public institutions or companies. More information on the Bolesławiec County website.
